BIOGRAPHY
Accomplished photographer and Hawai'i native, Kanani Aiu, expands on her 10 years of award winning photography to include weddings, childbirth, fashion, and commercial photography. A Psychology major from the University of Hawai'i, at Manoa, Kanani's work has evolved from her journey through self-discovery and her gift of visual expression. She discovered her passion for black and white photography at a very young age and developed her passion while in college. She is particularly noted for capturing the beauty of young children of Hawai'i.
Her photographs are in permanent collections and have been honored by establishments such as The Honolulu Academy of Arts (Hawai'i's premier art museum, with a collection of over 50,000 works. An encyclopedic museum where original works of art can be experienced in state-of-the-art galleries), The State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, Japanese Chamber of Commerce/Amfac Gallery, University of Hawai'i Common Gallery, Iolani Art Gallery, Mamo; A Native Hawaiian Journal, The Honolulu Advertiser, Photographers Forum Magazine and more.
